China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association organized the Check and Acceptance Meeting for key projects in “Research and Development of Advanced Aluminium Processing Techniques” in the National Science & Technology Pillar Program in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan Period. The project consists of six topics and was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology in January 2009.  Zhongwang is responsible for the “Research on Engineering of Pressing Techniques for Large and Complex Cross-Section Aluminium Alloy Extrusion Products”. Its research findings have been accepted by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The accomplishment is another one achieved by Zhongwang subsequent to the First Class Award in Science and Technology in Liaoyang City. In order to complete the project as scheduled, Zhongwang followed the “Interim Measures for the Management of the National Science & Technology Pillar Program” by observing all inspection requirements and arranging material reporting and extrusion product samples with excellence.

Besides acknowledging the outstanding performance of Zhongwang, the National Advanced Materials Industry Development Strategy Steering Committee formed by the Ministry of Science and Technology commented that Zhongwang met all the research and inspection requirements related to the project scope, benefiting the economy and the society.  The research solved technical issues related to the manufacturing of large and complex cross-section aluminium products for high-speed rails and will provide strong support for the escalation of the country’s aluminium processing industry. The research findings will help meet the demand for aluminium extrusion products from the national key projects and will reduce the country’s reliance on high-end aluminium imports.
