Ministry of Science and Technology’s Torch Center representatives visited China Zhongwang, and made it clear their support of China Zhongwang’s high-tech projects.
The Torch Center’s inspectors toured around the plant area and saw the Company’s production and operation. They also visited laboratories located in Engineering and Technology Research Center and consulted the progress of numerous research projects.
Mr. Li Zhiyuan, Head of the delegation, highly commended the Company’s robust development particularly in the area of advancing the light-weight development in metro railway trains and high speed trains.
High speed train market represents the apogee of aluminium extrusion processing skills in China. Only 3-4 aluminium extrusion enterprises possess the capability to manufacture extrusion products for high speed trains. Currently,
China Zhongwang is the only domestic enterprise with capability to produce large cross-section profiles such as broad plates used in high speed locomotives. Apart from high speed train components, the Company’s newly built deep processing center is also able to wield aluminium alloy body with precision and efficiency.
With its advanced research capability,
China Zhongwang’s project “Commercialization of Aluminium Alloy Vehicle Bodies and Structural Components used in City Railway and High-speed Railway” was recognized as National Torch Program.
Mr. Li Zhiyuan said, Ministry of Science and Technology strives to promote the development of high-tech projects and will offer full support to
China Zhongwang.
Launched in 1988, the Torch Program is a guidance plan intended to promote hi-tech industries in China. Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, as an independent legal entity, is tasked with executing the policies.
