In order to strengthen the construction of post-doctoral innovative practice base and promote the healthy development of Liaoning post-doctoral work, Liaoning Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security published the special notice on “Carrying out 2013 Evaluation of the Post-Doctoral Innovative Practice Base” in early 2013. The Bureau also had reviewed applications and finally approved Liaoning Zhongwang Group as a “Post-Doctoral Innovative Practice Base."

Since Liaoning Post-Doctoral Scientific Research Base was established in 2011, Liaoning Zhongwang Group has effectively combined the postdoctoral system with the economic development of the enterprise, with a view to strengthening the elite teams and technological innovation. The Group actively promoted an integration of academia and research, and translated the research results into achievements. In addition, the Group trained and hired a number of talents with advanced knowledge in technology and management, enhancing the company’s innovative capability.

Liaoning Zhongwang Group has maintained its leading position in terms of proprietary innovation. At the end of 2013, the Group had closed to 700 R&D and quality control personnel, accounting for 9.9% of the total staff headcount. R&D expenditure for last year represented 3% of the total revenue. The Group has been intensifying its efforts in hiring overseas talent for the aluminium flat rolled products project. Up till now, a number of engineers and managerial staff joined the team, and approximately 100 core technicians have been sent to Germany for a training program. Established in 1998, the technology centre was recognized as “State Accredited Enterprise Technology Centre” in 2012. The Group has collaborated with several top R&D and academic institutes in improving technical level. The Group has strong capability in new material innovation and very concerns about the research and development of alloying composition. The Group obtained numerous awards and accreditations including “China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award,” “Provincial Science and Techonology Award”, “Provincial Outstanding Innovative Product Award”, and “Science and Technology Award of the City”. In 2012, the Group was ranked first of “Top Ten Enterprises of Industrial Aluminium Flat Rolled Products in China.”
