Recently, Bob Trotter, Executive Director of Germany ThyssenKrupp Group, together with the accompanying personnel, visited China Zhongwang and toured its production facilities.
As a German industrial giant, ThyssenKrupp has made significant contributions to the European steel machinery industry. The group, with a wide product range covering the steel, automotive technology, machinery manufacturing, engineering design, trade and other various fields, has developed its business all around the world.
During the expedition, the two groups held in-depth negotiations on the cooperation of aluminium product manufacturing and other aspects. The leader of the Chinese Group pays high tribute to the achievement gained after the cooperation with ThyssenKrupp. Both sides believe that the further deepened exchanges in specific fields will benefit the common interest of each party.
As one of the three major profitability driving forces of China Zhongwang, the aluminium extrusion business created an income of RMB11.91 billion, accounting for 83.3% of the total revenue. Up to now, China Zhongwang has 93 aluminium extrusion production lines, among which 21 are large-tonnage extrusion presses of 75MN or above and four of them are the world advanced 125MN, summing up to an annual production capacity of over one million tonnes. In addition, the Group bought two 225MN horizontal single action aluminium extrusion presses which are the largest and most advanced in the world with a total price of RMB707 million, will commence production in 2015. The newly added production facilities, while strengthening the scale advantage, can also effectively improve the quality and production efficiency of the Group’s large cross-section aluminium products.
The annual global consumption amount of aluminium extrusion products in 2013 was about 22.24 million tonnes, 7.8% higher than the 20.83 million tonnes in 2012. The Chinese aluminium extrusion industry, maintaining an increase speed above China's economic growth, is playing a more and more important role in China's economic development. The consumption amount of aluminium extrusion products in China had increased by 11.2% from 12.56 million tonnes in 2012 to 13.96 million tonnes in 2013. The industrial aluminium extrusion consumption therein was about 4.69 million tonnes, 12.5% higher than the 4.17 million tonnes in 2012. Though the use rates of industrial aluminium extrusion materials in specific application fields are still far behind the developed countries, the gap, in coexistence with potential demands, has provided tremendous development opportunity for aluminium industry in China, including the aluminium extrusion industry.
