China Zhongwang has obtained AS9100C certification lately. AS9100 is a mandatory certification for aluminium materials applied in aviation and aerospace fields. It covers the production of civil aviation aluminum alloy products, extrusion products and forging products. Current AS9100C quality management system was officially promulgated in Jan 2009. As of today, some aluminium enterprises such as Northeast Light Alloy Co., Ltd and China Northwestern Aluminum Fabrication Plant have passed the certification.  

The total number of commercial aircrafts in the world is forecast to be doubled by 2031. 35 percent of the growth comes from Asia. In the next two decades, China will have the potential to become the second largest aviation market in the world as its demand for civilian aircrafts is expected to surge by two-fold. At present China has been transitioning from the large nation to the strong nation in the field of civilian aviation. China's foray into the larger passenger jet market is set to become a reality soon. 

In light of the promising outlook in China, the Group has been exploring the application of aluminum products in the aerospace industry. The Group’s project “7075 Extrusion Billets for Aviation Applications” has been included in “2013 Key Technological Innovation Project among the Enterprises in Liaoyang City.”Besides that, the development of aluminum flat rolled products used in the aerospace industry is also in progress as planned.

According to a Boston Consulting Group research report, the consumption of aluminum flat rolled products market in China will experience a dramatic rise from 7.6 million tonnes in 2011 to around 16 million tonnes in 2020 at a CAGR of 8-9%, accounting for more than half of the total consumption in the world and significantly outpacing the world’s average growth rate. With regard to the aluminum plates and sheets used in the aerospace industry of China, the medium-thick plate is currently dependent on import to satisfy its demand. As China Zhongwang continues to develop its aviation business, the import-reliance phenomenon will be reversed.
