On August 2, a metal dust explosion tore through Jiangsu Kunshan Zhongrong Metal Products Co., Ltd. As of now, the death toll from the blast had risen to 75 and more than 180 other people were hurt. According to the investigation made by the Accident Group of State Department, the explosion was caused by the high level of dust in the air. The accident once again drew the attention of production safety problems faced by corporations which need to handle concentration of dust in their production process. 

China Zhongwang always put the production safety as its top priority and also responded quickly to the accident. In view of the lesson of 8.2 Kunshan Accident, the group has carried out the emergency inspection and control over safety hazard based on the actual situation. What is more, the group also drew up a number of measures targeted at the accident causes: dust removal equipment and plant production safety system and measures. Among them are: (1) The ability of dust removal should be enhanced. Make sure the equipment such as vacuum cleaner and accumulator should be put in place. The air ventilation should be ensured. The dust-removal activity in the production fields should be made on a daily basis. (2) Improve the safe escape equipment and ensure a clear passageway to all escape routes in every production building. Fire safety equipment such as fire extinguisher and fire hydrant should be within easy reach. (3) Improve the safety production system and require polishing and grinding workers be equipped with anti-dust respirators and protection outfits to prevent the pneumoconiosis. The responsibility system of safe production should be intensified. (4) The person-in-charge of production shall be responsible for the safety issues. Each production safety aspect should be carried out so as to get rid of any safety hazard.

Production safety has been central to the enterprise management. The 8.2 Kunshan Accident has sounded a warning for processing enterprises.
