The 12th China (Beijing) International Recreational Vehicle Camping Exhibition cum 2016 China (Beijing) International Outdoor Camping Exhibition came to an end on March 27, 2016. Over a thousand recreational vehicle (“RV”) of different kinds were exhibited in the event with an array of accessories for outdoor camping, showing a booming trend in RV market.

RV industry in China took a relatively late start. In earlier times, the major consumption of RV was in developed countries including Europe and the U.S. In recent years, as a result of domestic industry development and improved living standards, the RV industry in China has begun to take shape since 2010. With further development of domestic automobile industry and the upgrade in consumption, RV has become more and more popular among the public, thus paved way for development of RV market in China with great potential.

Domestic RV camping market developed rapidly in 2015, during which, RV road trip and camping industry has been mentioned repeatedly by the State Council. Supported by several positive policies, RV camping industry is facing opportunities for rapid development. As ancillary for RV camping is improving, domestic RV manufacturers launched new RV models, which were exhibited in the 12th China (Beijing) International RV Camping Exhibition.

RV manufacturers from both domestic and overseas have demonstrated their unique products in the exhibition. It is easy to notice that exterior aluminium alloy for self-propelled and car-trailer RVs is popular in foreign market. Constrained by limited domestic supply of ultra wide aluminium sheet used in RV, the application of aluminium sheet in domestically produced RVs are facing obstacles.

Equipped with China’s largest wide cold rolling machine of 2800mm, Tianjin Zhongwang is able to produce aluminium sheet that can cover both side and top without welding, thus meet the market demand for ultra wide aluminium sheet in domestic RV market. Compared with welded sheets, the ultra wide sheet can avoid the negative effects including peeling and blistering on the welding place during spray paint and baking paint, thus improve the sealability of RV products. Meanwhile, the excellent resistance to oxidation and high impact resistance of aluminium sheets enables the vehicle to be in good condition during long-term use. At present, the cold-rolled aluminium sheets of 2500mm in width produced by Tianjin Zhongwang has been applied in a number of well-known domestic RV products and are well received in the industry.
