It is known that such success is rare in China as there are difficulties in casting and rolling of 7055 alloy due to its alloying element content, segregation tendency and internal stress.

 

Leveraging its advanced production equipment and stringent process standard, Tianjin Zhongwang succeeded in rolling 7055 aluminium plates, laying a foundation for its subsequent production of 7055-T7751 products in the future. 

 

It is learnt that domestic aerospace industry mainly adopts 7xxx aluminium alloy , such as 7075, 7050, 7150, etc., whose strength is not as strong as 7055 aluminum alloy. Along with its excellent strength and fracture toughness, the finished 7055-T7751 plate enjoys a high level of stretch resistance of up to 600MPa. The success in producing 7055-T7751 plate will lay a solid foundation for the production of aircrafts in China.
